Clinton Township, MI – Andrea M. Birdsall, Senior Litigation Paralegal/Litigation Manager, & Brian C. Gurta, Associate Attorney, attended the Macomb County Bar Association’s (MCBA) Meet the Circuit Court Judges event at Luciano’s Restaurant. The Judges being spotlighted for the event were Carl Marlinga, Michael Servitto, and Rachel Rancilio. The audience had a chance to meet the new judges and hear their input on what expectations and preferences they had going forward in their court rooms. There were discussions about different topics/issues that were affecting the State of Michigan, as well as opportunities to meet with other attorneys also attending the reception. It was a wonderful evening for all involved!
Brian C. Gurta began his career at Potestivo & Associates, P.C. October 6, 2014. Brian is located at the firm’s Rochester office as an Associate Attorney, primarily serving the Landlord and Litigation Departments.Brian completed his B.S. in Psychology, Minors in Business and Legal Studies at Grand Valley State University in 2011. He then earned his J.D. at Wayne State University Law School in 2015. Brian has gained a lot of experience in just a short amount of time. Including being a Legal Intern at Quicken Loans, and more recently a Litigation Law Clerk for Potestivo and Associates, P.C.. Brian’s experience demonstrates that he is befitted to the legal needs and objectives of Potestivo & Associates, P.C. Honorably, Brian belongs to the Detroit Veterans Bar Association and volunteers for the AmeriCorps Urban Safety Project. He has also earned his commission as an officer in the Michigan Army National Guard and United States Army.
Andrea M. Birdsall joined Potestivo & Associates, P.C., on September 2, 2010. She is based in the firm’s Rochester Office and serves as the Senior Litigation Paralegal/Litigation Manager for the firm’s Litigation Department – including Contested Landlord/Tenant, Contested Judicial Foreclosure, General Litigation, Firm Defense, and Collection matters – and continues to maintain oversight of the firm’s notaries public, and electronic and print research materials. Andrea graduated from Grand Valley State University (GVSU) in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Legal Studies with a minor in Criminal Justice. She is also certified as an Accredited Legal Secretary through the National Association of Legal Secretaries and an actively commissioned Notary Public for the State of Michigan. Her career began in 2007 with a small firm in Grand Rapids, Michigan, specializing in Family and Criminal Law, including extensive pro bono work for Kent and Ottawa Counties. Within one year, while still attending GVSU full time, she was promoted first to a full-time Legal Assistant and then to the firm’s Paralegal/Office Manager. After graduation, she moved across the state and joined the firm.
