Potestivo also supports local homeless shelters by hosting our annual purse drive. Inside the purses there are multiple hygiene products, such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, lotions, and many more. Another drive that we host in honor of Motiryo Robertson, who was the crusader for this worthy cause is our Annual Prom Dress drive. All donated dresses and accessories were delivered to a local upscale resale boutique in Pontiac, MI. Local high school students had the opportunity to shop for their very special event, free of charge. We are very grateful to be part of this very special local event! In addition, our Rochester, Michigan office sponsors the Annual American Red Cross blood drive , where our team effort helps save hundreds of lives!
Cornerstone Schools
Potestivo & Associates, P.C. has a particularly special bond with Cornerstone Schools of Detroit. Over the course of recent years, several of our staff members have taken part in their program “Partner Mornings.” Each quarter, certain staff members spend two hours at Washington-Parks Academy in Detroit, where they are matched one-on-one with a student in kindergarten through eighth grade. Our staff utilizes this time to listen to the child about what they are working on in school and offer advice about careers in the legal world. Partner mornings have proven to be a very rewarding program for both parties involved, as members of our firm have built relationships with these students and have a vested interest in their education and lives as a whole.
Throughout the year, the Cornerstone organization also puts on various events to raise funds for its three schools in the Detroit area. Potestivo & Associates, P.C. has contributed to many of these, including Detroit Tigers games and the annual Bush, Seyferth, Paige golf outing. Our firm finds it rewarding to be of assistance, both financially and personally, to Cornerstone schools and their talented students. Motivating the younger generations of inner city Detroit to achieve a higher education is a primary way to progress our community, and we are fortunate to have found and established this connection with Cornerstone.
