On June 20-21, Potestivo & Associates sponsored a fundraising team for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life event, raising $10,552, with company-wide participation through creative fundraising activities and walking/running around the track at Hart Middle School in Rochester Hills, Michigan.

Rochester Hills, Mich., June 24, 2009 – Potestivo & Associates P.C., an award-winning legal services provider to the mortgage banking industry, is pleased to announce the firm exceeded its fundraising goal for the American Cancer Society’s signature event, Relay for Life.  Beginning in April 2009, Potestivo & Associates set a goal to raise $5000 to help with cancer research.  After all funds were collected, the final tally was $10,552.68; doubling the record fundraising efforts reached the previous year.

“We are very proud to sponsor our local communities and the charities that are important to the firm’s employees,” says Brian Potestivo, founder and president, Potestivo & Associates, “it is especially rewarding that despite current economic conditions, our employees dedicated their time, energy, and creativity to more than double the contributions from last year.”

The firm experienced office-wide support of the program, with many departments raising money in original ways, including evening activities like bowling and euchre tournaments, internal promotions such as ice cream socials, bake sales, pizza parties, and potlucks, plus weekly 50/50 raffles, and used book sales.  On the day of the Relay for Life track event, a few employees even volunteered their time to provide massages to tired track participants.
