September 23, 2008 - Committee for Actual Real Estate Solutions, Inc. (CARES) Continues its Efforts on Capitol Hill

Washington, DC – September 23, 2008 — In advance of the House Financial Services Committee Hearings scheduled for Wednesday, September 24th at 2:30pm where Secretary Paulson is expected to testify on the issues that will form the basis of the new financial rescue plan, Committee for Actual Real Estate Solutions, Inc. (CARES) members met Tuesday, September 22nd with key Congressional Chiefs of Staff from both parties to discuss the current status and probable actions expected this week.  This continuing dialog and involvement in the process leading to formation of real long term solutions is critical for the future success of our nation and the mortgage and lending industry.

Recognizing the current urgency to act swiftly, our members of Congress are working diligently to enact legislation that is both aimed at stabilizing the current market and working toward permanent long term safeguards against future crisis.  CARES will continue its efforts and has been asked to remain involved and available to present the position and perspective from its members.
